Kate Robards is a writer, stand-up comedian, actor and producer.

The 7th generation born and raised in the bayou swamps of Orange, Texas. Despite her work around the globe, she’s a down-home country girl at heart who will never forget her humble beginnings… she’s tried! For the past decade her solo plays have been performed around the country and internationally to rave reviews by esteemed publications and sold out audiences. The Washington Post hailed her works as “hilarious and heartbreaking” with a “powerful finale.” The San Francisco Chronicle’s theatre critic Lily Janiak noted two of Kate’s plays as "genuinely funny” with "wry wit.” They are currently awaiting publication and are available for licensing.

With a talent for comedy writing, Kate’s episodic script was a finalist for Sundance Lab and her screenplays have garnered awards at Stage 32 and others. She currently has two screenplays in development with production companies. For several years she worked in development for TIME Studios on both scripted and non-scripted television and film projects and she’s become a secret weapon to many top notch creators in need of guidance on their scripts or projects. Among her talents is her ability to help others see their projects through to fruition and more than a dozen plays and countless TV and film projects have gone on to great success with her guidance.

Kate’s print work can be seen in literary journals and comedy publications like Betches, Lady Spike Media and The Writing Book. She’s also written for many live scripted shows like The Shorty Awards, Bustle Rule Breakers, Facebook Shop Variety Special and The TIME 100 on ABC. Some of the notable figures she’s written for include Kathy Griffin, JB Smoove, Busy Phillips, Stacy Abrams, Phoebe Robinson, Simu Liu, and more. Her onscreen appearances include HGTV's prank show House Haunters with Anthony Anderson, a viral VICE Feminism panel, Principles of Pleasure on Netflix and countless independent films and projects where her improvisational chops bring a punch to every project. In 2024 she headlined the Red Room at Cap City Comedy Club in Austin and performed a new 90 minute show at Caveat in New York City. She performs standup regularly in New York City.
